I saw a comment somewhere about the Mercure (maybe on wikipedia but I don't remember) that was to the effect of, 'The Mercure could have been a competitor to the 737 if Dassault had only realized that even French airlines might want to fly it to somewhere outside of France'. :laugh:

they basically thought that the range was going to be much higher than it turned out to be.
