St Mary's (UK)
« on: March 28, 2010, 12:29:00 AM »
Is there any aircraft that can usefully serve this airport?

I have a nice ripe route for the picking between St Mary's and my hub but I've been through all the A/C I can think of and none are of any use commercially that I can see.

Does anyone serve this place and what A/C are you using?

Easy to check. Scouse Flier Airways, using a SW3, I think it's a Fairchild SA227-DC Metro 23.

Is this worth rising your fleet commonalitiy?

Fairchild Metro: Runway requirement (MTOW)       730 m

Let L-420: Runway requirement (MTOW)       659 m

Both can't be used at this airport with full load.

You fly already EMB-120 (Runway requirement (MTOW)       829 m) maybe they can do the job.

EMB-120s are nice ac for a route like this. Depends on where you are flying to tho... if you are flying to any of the London airports you may need a fuel stop in Exeter or somewhere like that.
