I only recently started playing this game, and decided on The Modern Times #1. Now i've been playing for a little over a week, and i've noticed that over the past couple of days the player count dropped from over 300 to 266 now. Does this always happen near the end of a game or what?

It generally does as there's not much time to get a new airline really going and also the game is now closed for new users, which would have probably have reduced the downfall.
That world has also been epically long at 6 months, so players may feel like there's not much more they can do with their airlines and save some credits for v1.2 (like me :))
