Only North-America as base in demo?

As I started the demo, I could only select airports in North-America for use as my home base.
I assume thats not the case in the full game?

You are correct, and you can read the game world specs from the Game Area front page (where you select the desired game world / "server"). It will list all the specs like included airports and world year etc.
