Oil Prices
« on: February 25, 2010, 03:38:03 AM »
Oil is a getting a bit pricey. And as an ole timer, I can attest that oil prices were extremely stable from WW2 until 1973. So I am not certain why in 1967, we're having an oil spike

Fuel prices are "custom" in this game according to the description.

I think the prices started off way too low in relation to revenue anyway - basically if you can fill half of any plane you can get your hand on, you'll make money in this scenario - even considering fuel has gone from $30 to $50, it wont' change much at this point....

The answer can be read in the game description, the fuel prices is set "custom" and not "Real-world / Future prediction" ;)

Probably has something to do with the six day war plus there is an oil embargo coming up in 1973.

I am actually wondering if there is people that made plans from the start according to real life oil prices....

(I certainly hope so  ;) )

BTW the spike is because of the unusually high number of killer whale attacks to tankers in august 1968. 5 huge ships sank in the gulf and 10 more where consequently taken over by pirates.
