Unrealistic...slots and airlines...more regulation required.

Stansted, despite its London prefix, is some 30 miles away from the City of London and so I don't think local and national authorities see it as a viable long-term option.  They seem fixated on keeping LHR as the world's busiest international airport.  It too also suffers with opposition groups -



point taken. its still better than building a brand new airport.

man in the usa we dont run into stuff like this as much....

I quite agree :) 

I think maybe there should be a more co-ordinated approach nationwide to target certain airports for growth, but I don't think it's a high priority so nothing will happen until breaking point is reached.
