Author Topic: Changing from "small" to "medium" aircraft. Do I need to lay off pilots?  (Read 730 times)

I will no longer be operating any aircraft in the small type.  I just purchased 5 new medium size aircraft that needs pilots.  I'd prefer not to lay off my small aircraft pilots because the company image will suffer.  Is there any way to go about switching to medium a/c pilots without laying them off?

Thanks in advance

I was afraid that was the case.

Is there any way to lay off the pilots without having my company image go way down?  I also don't want the morale of other employee types to drop.

Only way to achieve that is when you NOT fire them. :(

I will not have any more small aircraft in my fleet in the next 2 months or so.  I won't be able to redirect them to any other a/c in my fleet and although I could keep them on payroll and turn a profit, it just seems pointless to keep people on that aren't doing anything.
