Which is faster 747-300 or 747-400?

Acording to me of course the answer is 747-400 but i m not sure is it the part of the random game or not it seems the 747-300 is faster than 747-400 in Down of the millennium game.I decided to replace my Osaka route by 747-400s i saw that they are slower than 747-300 by 15 min of almost 4700 nm route from ISTANBUL (same dep. time, same turn arround time). If it is not the part of the random game, i think we are wrongfullness to beautiful 747-400 that makes 0.855 mach on ER routes, where 747-300s just doing it with .84.
