Newer used aircraft and aircraft history
« on: November 04, 2009, 06:37:51 PM »
A quick query - more out of interest than anything else.  The computer brokers have a stock of used aircraft which are released onto the market as and when required, but are the newer aircraft that are released a product of another airline's bankruptcy or do the leasing companies obtain the aircraft themselves?  Obviously they do not have orders in place like the airlines, so are these aircraft waiting until the market requires them?

For example, at the time of writing, there was a B777-200 less than a year old.  Is this from someone going pop or it just happens to be released from the bank of leased aircraft available?

Connected to this too  - what happened to this idea?,1974.0.html
