Tupolev 114
« on: September 23, 2009, 11:14:51 AM »
I was wondering when the production of the Tu114 stopped in the game? In real life they were flying until the Ilyushin 62 came but in Jet Age 3 the production line is already closed. Now I'm not sure when the production stopped in real life but for the next game sami, I beg you on my bare little knees...

PLEASE PLEASE keep the production line open at least till the start of the game, this baby is THE most fantastic plane EVER build...

The production lines are dynamic. If there are no orders, the line will close - there are no exceptions.

yes I understand that but in JA3, production line was closed BEFORE the game started, so I wonder when in real life the production line closed...

Hmm could be right... it was introduced in 1961... only a short life for such a beauty :(

That plane is indeed awesome until fuel and maintenance kill you. Long range, lots of passengers, 55 minute turnaround time, fast as a jet.

Fuel is not an issue it uses a third of a 707/320c's consumption and with the right mix of seats will fly 5500nm -you just better have high enough steps at the destination airfield or your passengers will be climbing down a ladder to get onto the top of the mobile steps!  I love the idea that this plane had sleeper berths, dining room style seating and a lower level for the galley.  Maintenance is a Bear (a little in joke there the TU-95 long range nuclear bomber on which the 114 was based was NATO codenamed "Bear") though.  Long live the Rossiya!

If anyone has any they are not using or planning on disposing of please pm me first I will buy them from you and intend to use them throughout this game!

Graham

Sorry I was wrong on the fuel around 12000kg/hr but 114s regularly feature in
y top 4 profit a/c up against DC8s 707s 320Badv/320Cs and MD10/40s!

Regards

Graham
