[-] A330/A340 and DC10/MD11 seat capacity

(1/1)

Hi

The A330-300 and A340-300 aircrafts are dimensionally equals, both having a length of 63,6meters, and only major difference being number of engines. However, in airwaysim, for whatever reason, it seems the A340 seats more.

In my DC-10s, I have a C32Y280 seat plan. In the MD11 I can only get C32Y290, an extra seatrow, even though the MD11 is 7 meters longer.

Closed: Current system works within design limits; fix will come when cabin systems are renewed later on.

The difference is because the seat capacity is calculated according to the maximum certified seats available, the fuselage length data is not stored at all. However it has been pointed out that because of that the configurator has some minor problems with some other aircraft models too we'll may have to add that data too and change the calculation a bit in the future ..

sami:
fix is made after the cabin length data is found for all planes so it may take a while.

Only a simple example:
If I have a plane arranged with only Yclass in 70seat-34pitch engined with a pair of "Engine number one"
when I change the engines with a powerer pair I will increase the MTOW. And (if certificated) I could increase the number of seat (e.g: 78seat-32pitch).

Sorry for my Eng,

Status update:

Cabin length database is still incomplete (never will be 100% complete, have to try and make up the missing data in some other ways). After the data is collected the cabin seat code can be changed.

However this is a VERY low priority item at the moment.
