What's happening to my load factor?
« on: August 23, 2009, 10:35:59 AM »
Hi folks.

My load factor have suddenly started to decrease(rapidly), and I don't understand what's happening. I haven't changed any parameters before the drop started now. The funny thing is that the load factor is also dropping om some of my monopoly routes. If anyone of you have got a clue on what's going in, please bring it on!

Regards, Stefan

Probably someone opened a competing route and is offering lower prices/better seats than you are. You can check by going to route planning.

It also happened on one of my monopoly routes, with no competition. So i really don't get what happened.

Did you change prices? Did your RI/CI drop? There has to be a reason, and if it's not competition it could be one of those.

I didn't change anything in several game weeks before the drop started, and my RI\CI was the same as before.

How much does the ticket price influence the load factor, all other factors held unchanged?

Did you change your prices severely or increase them above the default pricing?

I have noticed the load factor does seem to fluctuate.  Mine stays high for 3 or 4 weeks and then drops for a week or so. Have you taken into consideration any maintenance your aircraft might be having done? I'm sure this is what makes my L F  rise and fall (for obvious reasons).       ::)

Competition! and/or a drop in status due to cancelations or delays.

I have experimented the same phenomenon!!!  Suddenly the load factor of two of my monopoly routes(i.e. routes only flights by my company) went to 0% without any previous change made by me.

Notice that Im speaking of routes witht 100% image, 100% punctuality and 0% cancelations.

Im afraid this is a kind of system failure.

The prices are quite lower than the standard ones. If you move one dollar + or - the route becomes normal again.

This have to be a failure.
