Guys, you can fly any plane in a profitable way. It always depends on your overall situation: Your competition, your route demands, first class/business class, fuel prices etc. You cannot make a general statement that this plane works and this one does not. There was much talk about whether you can fly props in a profitable way in current ATB2 and yes you can. However, there are many who do not succeed, for different reasons.

I am considering ordering CRJs in ATB2, but I do not want to wait such a long time. Because competition will be very different once these planes will be delivered and who knows how the slot situation will be by then. I think this is just a legitimate thought in the current state of the game.

But.... if you are able to buy your fleet of them....  you wont have to worry about the leasing cost.

That's another story, a very costly one.

I am the launch customer of the 700 in this game so I got 20 of them...  With the 13% discount, the 700s will lease cheaper than the 200s...   And it carries almost 2x as many pax.

These are among the most popular regional jets today.

There are only 49 total CRJs on order right now...  16 of those are mine.  I already have 18 new ones in my fleet.   They all make more than 100k per week in profit.

Is there a reason?

Airway sim doesnt model the Hub-spoke system that real airlines use, and where the CRJ/ERJ really shine.  This means their real world advantages are moot in the game.

What's a Hub - Spoke system?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoke-hub_distribution_paradigm

With airlines they have their main hubs, e.g. Lufthansa have Frankfurt and Munich where their long-haul fleets are based.  The spokes then connect smaller airports to the main hubs, hence hub-spoke :)

Look at my airline in ATB2.  You can get anywhere in the USA.  I fly big planes to the major cities and CRJs to the small ones.

CRJs bankrupted me in ATB#1...  I came back and ordered the F70 instead (carries only a few more pax, but with lower maint costs), and started making money hand over fist.

So I steer clear of the CRJ.  Stick with the Fokker.  Them silly Fokkers go EVERYwhere...  And if you configure them right, you can get almost 2000 nm out of the F70 and 1700 nm out of the F100.  It's a winner!   ;)

Oh, I get the system, (just didn't know the name - I used to call it a Centralised system)

Thank-you for the answer
